"For the past 5 months, I've been working on improving my overall fitness and health. The support I've gotten from Lea and Energia is the main reason that I have made such amazing physical, mental and even emotional changes. For myself, it was critical to not only look at learning to perform the movements safely, but also to learn more about how to eat in a way that fuels my body and is satisfying. I'm happy (and still somewhat in awe) that my strength and stamina have increased significantly. But equally amazing is what I've learned in nutritional coaching with Lea. As well as weight, I've also lost a nice amount of inches and I’m confident I’ll continue to lose more. It's not an understatement to write that prior to getting the nutritional coaching, turning 50, I was convinced that I was destined to continue gaining weight and feel exhausted, because I honestly couldn't stop eating, my sleep was terrible and I got out of breath really easily. Lea worked with me to find a plan of eating that keeps me full and well, but also curbed my over-eating after the first month. I'm really excited to keep getting stronger and to continue working on my nutrition - and I'm very happy to report that I'm sleeping well on most nights. "Lea has been my trainer for over a year. I’ve always been fit and active but with a heavy travel schedule, mostly to cold climates and places without gyms, and with being over 50, my fitness was lagging.
I knew strength training needed to be a focus but I was starting off as such a weakling (I hated that I couldn’t do 1 push up). I was terrified of getting injured! That’s is Lea’s concern too- she takes the time to make my body ready by preparing the muscles and ensuring I know the correct technique. She spends time showing me the technique as well as explaining the" what and how" behind it- not just once, but every time.
I never imagined I could deadlift or shoulder press the amount I do (I could deadlift a small adult!). I was sure I’d never do a pull or chin up, never mind figure out how to get into those bands!
Thanks to Lea I understand what my body can do and I see strength in it. Oh yes, I can now do push ups! Sherry C
